New Era client Sam Smith has joined Oxford United on a season long loan.

The 20-year old striker makes the move from Reading to the Kassam Stadium.

Sam began his career at Manchester United, before joining Reading aged 15.

He played an integral role within the Club’s Academy set-up, captaining the under 18s side and featuring regularly for the under 23s, before joining the first team.

Highly-rated Sam made eight Championship appearances last season, scoring once.

He has been performing consistently for Reading in pre-season training and now looks to the challenge ahead with Oxford this season.
