Sam Smith joins Shrewsbury Town on loan

22nd January 2019

Sam Smith has joined Shrewsbury Town on loan from Reading until the end of the season.

Signing his first professional contract in 2016, Sam spent time on loan at Bishop’s Stortford before returning to the Royals. He featured regularly in the under 23s side upon his return.

Sam made his first team debut in the 2017/2018, making several appearances in the Championship. He signed a new four-year contract at Reading in February 2018, before joining Oxford United on loan.

Sam made 23 appearances in his time at the U’s and now links up with Sam Ricketts’ side to continue gaining first team experience in League One.

Congratulations on your move, Sam and we look forward to monitoring your progress.
