Brentford sign Callum Elder on loan

30th July 2016

New Era client Callum Elder has joined Championship side Brentford on a season long loan deal. The recently turned 21 year old left back has come through the academy at Leicester City FC and previous seasons have seen him have successful loan spells at League One with Peterborough and League Two team Mansfield.

Callum committed to a new three year contract at Leicester earlier in the week and has now join Brentford for the season to gain further first team experience.

Brentford head coach Dean Smith told the club’s official website: “Callum is an attacking full-back. He comes highly recommended and I believe there is further development in him. He is also a player that can improve the squad now.

Callum came to my attention when he played for Peterborough against my Walsall team. He did very well that day and I have been watching him ever since, although it was unfortunate he had to cut short that loan spell due to injury. I am pleased to welcome him to Brentford.

We all look forward to watching your progress this season, good luck Callum!
