Fara Williams receives MBE award

Fara Williams has been honoured with the MBE award for her contribution to the game of football throughout her wonderful career.

Fara made her England debut in 2001 and since then has racked up an incredible 149 international appearances making her the most capped England player of all time across the women and mens game. In this time she has also scored 40 goals.

She has played at three World Cups, three European championships and the 2012 Olympics. She is the only women player to score in three separate World cups.

During her domestic career she helped Liverpool FC win back to back FA WSl titles in 2013 and 2014. Won the The FA Womens cup and the FA Womens Premier league with Everton and more recently the FA Womens cup with Arsenal FC.

Williams describes receiving the award as an unbelievable feeling, it's a very proud moment for not only myself but for people closest to me as well. To be recognized in football, for the services I've delivered throughout my career is an unbelievable thing.
